Press Release

Clean Out Your Cabinet
 Pharmaceutical Disposal

The Lehi City Police Department is excited to be participating in ‘Clean Out Your Cabinet’. This program is designated to give citizens the opportunity to dispose of their unwanted and/or expired pharmaceutical (over the counter or prescription) medication without flushing them down the toilet and contaminating local water supplies.  The collected medications will be documented and commercially incinerated.  No information will be gathered from anyone wishing to drop medications off at the Lehi Police Department throughout the year.  All we do ask is that you do not bring any needles or illegal drugs such as Marijuana, Heroin, or Cocaine; they cannot be accepted.

Programs like the ‘Clean Out Your Cabinet’ work in conjunction with permanent disposal sites located throughout the county.  The Lehi Police Department has recently acquired a permanent collection box located within the Police Department.  Pharmaceutical medications can be deposited in the container during business hours, Monday thru Thursday, 7AM-6PM.  If a citizen has some medication to drop off outside of those hours, and cannot come back during regular business hours, they may contact Dispatch to see if it would be possible for an officer to meet them at the Police Department to assist them in dropping off their medication.  We look forward to this program forging a stronger relationship between the great citizens of Lehi and your Lehi Police Department.
